Developer Chapter 40B LIP Presentation

On the Millbury Board of Selectmen's agenda for Tuesday, May 24, 2022, starting at 6:00 PM EST, is a guest presentation by developer Steven F. Venincasa for a Chapter 40B LIP project located at 17 Rice Road in Millbury, Massachusetts.

The Millbury Board of Selectmen's meeting will be held at the Millbury Town Hall located at 127 Elm Street in Millbury, Massachusetts. The neighborhood residents and every resident in Millbury should attend in person, if possible, otherwise via Zoom with the Meeting ID: 897 9418 5355.

As you may recall, during the last few public hearings on the initial proposed Rice Pond Village project (denied on February 14, 2022), developer Steven F. Venincasa threatened our neighborhood and the Millbury Planning Board with a Chapter 40B affordable housing development with slightly less than 225 apartments if the Millbury Planning Board did not concede to his demands to remove the approval condition that the developer had to upgrade to the Providence & Worcester Railroad crossing on Rice Road.

If you have not yet sent an email message to each member of the Millbury Board of Selectmen, it is highly recommended that you do so before Tuesday, May 24, 2022, to strongly encourage them not to entertain engaging with Steven F. Venincasa or James Venincasa prior to February 14, 2023, or sign a Project Eligibility Letter which is necessary for the developer to begin the Chapter 40B process.

Taking action is important no only to the neighborhood of Rice Road, Thomas Hill Road, Aldrich Avenue, and Captain Peter Simpson Road, but also all the other surrounding neighborhoods that could be significantly impacted by increased vehicular traffic, including, but not limited to South Main Street, Providence Street (Route 122A), Woodland Street, Herricks Lane, Sycamore Street, Curve Street, Maple Street, Riverlin Street, and beyond.
