UN1F1ED2 Project Concerns

Approximate UN1F1ED2 Global Packing Group Project Site in Sutton (and Millbury)

As some of us have felt the blasting for the UN1F1ED2 Global Packing Group project on Providence Street (Route 122A) in Sutton. They are preparing the site for a massive facility with three proposed buildings, Buildings 2 and 3 are presented for construction in the current phase, with Building 1 following in a future phase. The UN1F1ED2 Global Packing Group property is in Sutton with a smaller portion in Millbury. Buildings 2 and 3 are entirely in Sutton. Building 1 is mostly in Sutton with a smaller portion of the building being in Millbury, however, Building 1 is much larger in size than Buildings 2 and 3 combined. Based upon presentation (slide 7).

Maria DeCosta started a Change.Org petition for concerns of Sutton and Millbury residents. Some of the concerns include, but are not limited to:

  • Radon Testing

  • Traffic Study

  • Noise Pollution

  • Air Pollution

Millbury residents and properties could be impacted by the UN1F1ED2 Global Packing Group project, so we should at a minimum monitor the permitting and progress. There were some unconfirmed rumors that raw materials and finished products would be shipped by rail, therefore, potentially increasing railroad traffic through the town of Millbury, however, their presentation does not appear to indicate that possibility at this time.
